The NHS Institute closed on 31 March 2013. This website is being maintained in the short term so that registered users can download documents and view videos (but webinars are no longer available). A number of key resources will transfer to the NHS Improving Quality’s website. Once this website is closed you'll be able to see all publicly available content on The National Archives website: http://webarchive.nationalarchives.gov.uk/*/http://institute.nhs.uk.

Please note that from May 1st 2013 the ability to order our hard copy materials will be temporarily suspended as we finalise the closedown of the NHS Institute and complete the transition to NHS Improving Quality (part of NHS England). It is currently anticipated that many of the materials will be passed onto NHS England and should become available again later this year.

Implementation Lead

Richard is the Director of Implementation and Interim Managing Director for NHS Global, a new UK body established to support the delivery of health care expertise to the international market. Richard is also Programme Director for the NHS Innovation Challenge Prizes at the NHS Institute for Innovation and Improvement, a role that involves improving the culture of innovation in NHS organisations.

Prior to joining the NHS Institute in April 2010 Richard was Associate Director of Corporate Strategy at Derbyshire County PCT with the lead responsibility for delivering the World Class Commissioning agenda. He was also a participant on the first cohort of the Top Talent Breaking Through Programme.

Richard represents emerging NHS leaders as a core member of the NHS National Leadership Council and is also a member of the NHS Health and Well-being Scrutiny Panel.

Richard joined the NHS in 2002 through the national Graduate Management Scheme and has previously worked in numerous sectors, including the acute sector as Head of Business Development at Doncaster and Bassetlaw Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

Prior to joining the NHS Richard worked in the media, predominantly in TV and radio production at the BBC and Granada TV.

UK Implementation Manager and Implementation Lead

Over the years Marta have built up a history of excellence and experience in business management crossing over between the private and public sector in healthcare and SME markets. She is developing the UK organisation for NHS Global from services to members to a joint international marketing strategy.

International Projects Lead

With a wealth of experience within Healthcare, Defence, Aerospace, Manufacturing, Distribution, Electronics, Food & Drink sectors in senior project and operations management roles. Steve is the hands on project lead at NHS Global. He works closely with NHS organisations and international partners in getting commercial projects off the ground.
