Project Description:
The Croydon Federation of General Practices was formed in November 2007 with a vision of achieving ‘responsive general practice’.

In December 2008, a three month outcome-focused, clinician-led ‘rapid improvement GP access project’ was started. It objectives were to:

•    Improve understanding and match appointment capacity to patient demand
•    Improve the quality and response to urgent same day patient requests
•    Influence the patient perception

This project had an explicit aim of ‘quality improvement’ with collective sharing and learning between Federation GP practices.
