Enhancing roles, improving quality and efficiency: Non-medically led cardiac stress - best practice in action - 10 March 2010
A nuclear medicine team from University Hospitals of Leicester devised a training programme to enable non-medical staff to stress patients for myocardial perfusion scintigraphy (MPS). The approach led to waiting times being reduced from 42 to 2 weeks and the team was a finalist in the 2009 Health and Social Care Awards. This free interactive event will use this example to explore how extending the role of non-medical professionals can enhance patient care and make services more efficient.
