The Productive Mental Health Ward and Learning Disabilities - Bradford District Care Trust   

Bradford District Care Trust cover.JPGInvolving service users in the process of improvement has been central to the work Bradford District Care Trust's Learning Disabilities teams have done on The Productive Mental Health Ward.  The programme has helped achieve many improvements including a 10% reduction in falls and improving staff well being levels to 97%.

Issue 1: The Productive Mental Health Ward and Forensics - Rampton Hospital

Issue 1 of The Productive Times for PMHWNottingham Healthcare’s Rampton Hospital piloted the programme in one of its most clinically challenging areas: Women’s Forensic Services.  The programme has helped the hospital’s Jade Ward reduce staff sickness levels from 14% to as low as 1%, and reduced handover time by half.

Issue 2: The Productive Mental Health Ward and Crisis teams - Derbyshire Mental Health Services NHS Trust
Derbyshire Mental Health Services NHS TrustDerbyshire Mental Health Services NHS Trust based at the Hartington Unit, Chesterfield Royal Hospital, used The Productive Mental Health Ward to help it to increase early discharges by 400% in just five months.  The work has also reduced the number of bed stays from 70 to 50.

Issue 3: The Productive Mental Health Ward and Rehabilitation and Recovery - Rotherham Doncaster and South Humber Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust
Rotherham Doncaster and South Humber Mental Health NHS Foundation TrustRotherham Doncaster and South Humber Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust implemented the programme on its Swallownest Court, where staff were able to increase the time they spend with service users on therapeutic engagement.  The programme has also helped to reduce waste around meals and the amount spent on the monthly food bill.
