Better Care, Better Value Indicators - new publication
The Better Care, Better Value indicators reveal the potential to make significant cash or resource savings whilst improving quality. However, the key issue is what has to be done to actually realise the benefits. For this reason we have introduced the 'Converting the potential into reality' guides - one is aimed at NHS commissioners and the other is for provider organisations. Izwe Health 2010
Izwe Health 2010 is an innovative support programme for PCT’s to improve their engagement and efficiency performance. The programme is designed to help PCT’s meet and exceed World Class Commissioning Competencies 3, 5 and 8 and offers a minimum of £150,000 of bespoke long term benefits.
Izwe means people powered. Izwe is a new social enterprise that reinvests 15% of profit back into the community annually. It has been founded to create a step change in how organisations engage internally. Izwe is made up of leading engagement thinkers and practitioners who have helped many organisations including the BBC, OECD, NHS Institute as well as PCT’s across Britain and public bodies across the world. Izwe’s technology partners led the French Prime Ministers internet presidential campaign in 2007 & more recently advised the Obama presidential online campaign.
In 2010, the programme will be working with four PCT’s applying the Izwe team’s learning and expertise to their individual needs. Any PCT’s interested in participating in the programme can download an application form from www.izwe.com. More detail is available from the brochure posted here (698.74 KB).
Access to free improvement tools for UK healthcare professionals
The Improvement Network website provides a suite of free Improvement Tools designed to improve staff management skills, and are accessible by health practitioners. The tools cover a range of 16 topics including communication, change management and partnership working. The sponsors of the Improvement Network, which include the NHS Institute, help provide free access to this content. There are currently over 9,000 managers already subscribed, including over 1,000 from the healthcare community. Start improving your management skills, and potential, by simply registering to the site from the following link:

Inter-PCT Sharing and Learning
We are now supporting learning and sharing based on the results of the assurance process using the "river diagram" developed by Chris Collison and Geoff Parcell.
